How Bobrisky Paid N35M for VIP Treatment in Kirikiri! Shocking Details Emerge

When popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, was sentenced to six months in prison in 2024 for abusing the naira, many assumed the controversial figure would serve his time quietly.

But recent revelations have turned that assumption on its head.

According to a bombshell revelation by Chief Babalola Shabi, the traditional ruler of Kirikiri Town, Bobrisky’s time behind bars might have been more of a lavish retreat than a punishment.

During a town hall meeting organized by the Lagos State Police Command for National Police Week, Chief Shabi dropped shocking details that have since stirred public outrage.

N35 Million, Eight ATM Cards, and a Secret VIP Setup

Chief Shabi claimed that Bobrisky allegedly smuggled eight ATM cards into the Kirikiri custodial facility.

Through these cards, a whopping N35 million was reportedly funneled to Point of Sale (POS) operators, who then passed the cash to correctional officers. The goal? VIP treatment.

Bobrisky was allegedly not in the prison at all. Instead, he was comfortably housed in a private apartment, supposedly arranged by corrupt prison officials.

According to the chief, the prison setup was a well-oiled machine involving multiple collaborators, not a solo operation.

After growing suspicious, Shabi invited all POS operators in the community to his palace, which led to the EFCC tracing the money trail.

“Everyone thought he was in Kirikiri serving time. The reality? He was living it up outside the prison walls,” Chief Shabi revealed.

A Web of Collusion

The ease with which the funds were accessed raised red flags. Shabi noted the operation seemed far too organized to be the work of just one individual.

He added that the property where Bobrisky allegedly stayed has since been demolished, and both EFCC and the Department of State Services (DSS) have interrogated him as part of the investigation.

In his words:

“I told them everything. As a community leader, I can’t stand by and allow impunity like this.”

Meanwhile, officials reportedly involved in the scheme have been suspended from their roles within the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Conflicting Reports & More Accusations

The situation becomes even murkier when stacked against an earlier National Assembly report, which claimed that although Bobrisky may have received special treatment, he was still kept within prison premises.

But another twist came from controversial social critic Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, who released a voice note allegedly from Bobrisky herself.

In the clip, the crossdresser allegedly claimed to have paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges.

She also referenced the intervention of a “godfather” and certain prison officials who ensured her prison term was more penthouse than penitentiary.

Justice or Jungle?

This entire saga raises pressing questions about the integrity of Nigeria’s justice system.

If true, it’s not just about Bobrisky—it’s about the glaring holes in our institutions that allow such high-level manipulation.

At the heart of it, this scandal isn’t just gossip. It’s a mirror reflecting a deeper societal problem: when wealth and influence can allegedly buy freedom, what happens to justice?

As investigations continue, the public awaits answers—and accountability.
